How We Built This Study What comes from the school and state data, and what gets adjusted for your profile. +

The starting point is each school’s long-run chance of producing pro athletes in a given sport. That baseline comes from pro player output relative to the school’s estimated athlete pool.

We then compare that school baseline with the state average and national average for the same sport. For baseball, the state view is built from school-level totals.

To make the result more personal, the tool applies light adjustments based on year, role, and team strength. These are directional nudges, not guarantees.

In simple terms, the model is: School Probability × Year × Playing Role × Team Tier, with the final result capped so profile adjustments do not overpower the school baseline.
