This is a promotional contest. There is no purchase necessary, no entry fee, and the contest does not involve betting or wagering.
Prize
- One (1) Winner
- $3,000 USD cash prize
- Winner = lowest total bracket score at the official conclusion of the Tournament (as reflected on ESPN Tournament Challenge)
- Tie-breaker: earliest eligible submission timestamp
- Winner may be required to complete standard payment and tax verification steps
🥴 What counts as “worst”
The bracket with the lowest total score when the Tournament officially ends.
✅ Objective scoring
Scores come directly from ESPN Tournament Challenge. No public voting. No subjective judging.
🔒 Bracket lock
Once the first Tournament game begins, brackets are locked on ESPN and can’t be changed.
🧾 One entry
One (1) submission per person via the official entry form.
How to Enter
- Create your bracket on ESPN Tournament Challenge and make it public.
- Submit one (1) entry via the official form and include your public ESPN bracket link.
- Keep your bracket public and viewable through April 6, 2026.
Key Dates (2026)
- Submission window opens: Sunday, March 15, 2026 (after the official bracket announcement)
- Submission window closes: Tuesday, March 17, 2026 (immediately prior to the start of the first Tournament game)
- Tournament play: March 17 – April 6, 2026
- Winner determination: After the Championship Game concludes on April 6, 2026
- Winner announcement: After verification is completed, and in any event no later than June 30, 2026
Eligibility
- Open to legal residents of the 50 U.S. states and Washington, D.C.
- Must be 18+ at the time of entry
- No purchase necessary
- One (1) bracket submission per person
- Employees of Action Network / Better Collective and affiliated companies are not eligible
Scoring & Winner Selection
- Bracket scoring follows the official scoring system displayed by ESPN Tournament Challenge.
- Final scores are taken directly from each entrant’s public ESPN bracket link at the official conclusion of the Tournament.
- The Winner is the entrant with the lowest total score.
- In the event of a tie for the lowest score, the earliest eligible submission timestamp wins.
- Action Network’s decisions regarding eligibility, scoring, and winner determination are final and binding.
Winner Publicity (Optional)
The Winner may be invited (but is not required) to participate in reasonable promotional activity,
such as allowing Action Network to reference their name and bracket outcome in editorial or promotional content.
Participation is optional and not a condition of receiving the prize.
