How We Ranked the Baby Names

Congratulations are still landing for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, who married at Madison Square Garden on July 3. Naturally, fans have already jumped to the next question, could a baby be next and what would they name it?

Reading odds is our job, so we turned that second question into a name index. We pulled every name from Swift's songs and added the family names on both sides.

Then we scored each name by how closely it ties to the couple. A title track or a close family name scores high. A passing lyric scores low. The strongest ties get the shortest odds.

That gives three boards, a girl, a boy, and a neutral name, each ranked by chance. We also pulled the one real market, the live betting on a Swift pregnancy, so both halves are here.

One note, in the spirit of fun. Swift has not announced a pregnancy, and this is not a prediction about her private life. Think of it as a celebration of her songwriting, turned into a name game for fans. The pregnancy market below is a real, public one that we are simply reporting on.

Family and Song Names Score Highest

The pattern is the same on all three boards. The less obvious picks score highest.

The model rewards maiden names, middle names, and names that appear more than once. That is why a surname like Finlay ranks above a first name like Betty.

The takeaway is simple. The strongest picks are the family and songwriting references, not the obvious first names.

The spread is wide. Finlay tops the board at 18%, and Karma sits at the bottom at 5%.

The Pregnancy Market Puts Swift Last

The names are the fun part. The one real number is the market on a Swift pregnancy, and it points the other way.

A live, traded market on a Swift pregnancy before 2027 sits at 13%. It has about $36,000 in volume and resolves at the end of 2026.

Line her up against three other celebrity pregnancy markets and she ranks last.

CelebrityMarketChanceOdds
RihannaPregnant in 202632.5%+208
Dua LipaPregnant in 202626%+285
Nara SmithPregnant in 202623.5%+326
Taylor SwiftPregnant before 202713%+669

Swift dominates the culture, but the market gives her less than half of Rihanna's chance.

The Bottom Line on Names and Odds

If the couple sticks to form, expect a name with meaning. Marjorie, August, and Finlay all trace back to a song or a family member. Those score higher than any obvious first name.

The one real market is more cautious. At 13%, bettors see a Swift pregnancy as unlikely this year, well behind Rihanna at 32.5%.

Take the name board for what it is, a look at how Swift tends to choose. The pregnancy question is still wide open.

The names are the fun. The odds are the reality check.

Methodology

What we measured. Two things, kept separate. First, real pregnancy odds from a live prediction market. Second, an illustrative name index built from Swift's catalog and both families.

When. Market data was pulled on July 9, 2026. It moves continuously and was refreshed close to publish.

How the names were scored. We took Swift's 258 released songs and pulled names from titles, lyrics, and both families. Each name earns points by how closely it connects.

The point scale. A title track scores 12, a family name 9, a named character 7, a friend or his-world figure 6, and a loose nod 2. Bonuses apply for a second source, a maiden or middle-name pick, and appearing across songs.

How the odds were set. Within each board we ranked the names and assigned a fixed descending set of probabilities that sums to 100%. The American odds follow directly from the implied probability.

What we excluded. Ex-partners, diss-track targets, and any sensitive names were removed. Estranged connections were left off and logged.

Extraction date. July 9, 2026.
